OUR MISSION

BWI of Columbia is committed to educating all caregivers in the techniques and practices and benefits of safe babywearing. Through Babywearing, we strive to make a positive impact on children, families, and the community at large, as well as instilling confidence in new caregivers, promoting child-centered parenting, and consciously creating a welcoming community.

MEETINGS

BWI of Columbia currently has 6 meetings a month serving the Columbia area of the Midlands of South Carolina. Our meetings are always free and all caregivers are welcome. We have a lending library of over 90 carriers that travels to every meeting. Everyone is welcome to try the lending library carriers available at each meeting.

Meetings are lead by our Volunteer Babywearing Educators (VBEs). VBEs are accredited and trained through Babywearing International to teach how to wear each type of carrier safely. VBEs keep current on the industry's best practices through having regular continuing education sessions.

We pride ourselves on creating a friendly and welcoming environment for each meeting. We love teaching and getting to know the parents in our community. When you come to one of our meetings you can expect to leave feeling welcome and comfortable. You can also have confidence in knowing you were safely taught how to keep your baby close.
